And, all-in-all, week seven wasn&#8217;t <em>that<\/em> bad. I went an almost respectable 9-6 straight up, if a pitiful 5-10 against the spread. For the season, that makes me 69-37 straight up, 47-57-2 against the spread. Let&#8217;s see how much worse things can get. Here&#8217;s what not to expect.<\/p>\n<p><strong><strong><strong title=\"San Diego Chargers web site\"><a title=\"San Diego Chargers web site\" href=\"http:\/\/www.chargers.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">San Diego<\/a><\/strong> (+9) <strong>at <strong title=\"Denver Broncos web site\"><a title=\"Denver Broncos web site\" href=\"http:\/\/www.denverbroncos.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Denver<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong>I kind of feel like the best way to beat the Chargers isn&#8217;t through the air but on the ground. And I&#8217;m not sure the Broncos are the team best suited to pull that off. So if the game were in San Diego, I&#8217;d take the Chargers. But it isn&#8217;t. So I&#8217;m taking the Broncos. But I&#8217;m sure as hell not giving nine points. Wouldn&#8217;t surprise me in the least if the margin ended up being just one.<\/p>\n<p><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><a title=\"Detroit Lions web site\" href=\"http:\/\/www.detroitlions.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Detroit<\/a><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong> (-3.5) vs<strong>. <strong><strong><strong title=\"Atlanta Falcons web site\"><strong><a title=\"Atlanta Falcons web site\" href=\"http:\/\/www.atlantafalcons.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Atlanta<\/a><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong> at Wembley Stadium, London<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong>Poor, poor <a title=\"Matt Ryan at NFL.com\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nfl.com\/player\/mattryan\/310\/profile\" target=\"_blank\">Matt Ryan<\/a>. He takes about half a dozen sacks in this game. And the Lions come out on top by a touchdown.<\/p>\n<p><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><a title=\"Minnesota Vikings web site\" href=\"http:\/\/www.vikings.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Minnesota<\/a><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong> (+2.5) <strong>at <strong title=\"Tampa Bay Buccanneers web site\"><a title=\"Tampa Bay Buccanneers web site\" href=\"http:\/\/www.buccaneers.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Tampa Bay<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><a title=\"Teddy Bridgewater at NFL.com\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nfl.com\/player\/teddybridgewater\/2543465\/profile\" target=\"_blank\">Teddy Bridgewater<\/a> has finally found an end to his sack woes. It&#8217;s called the Tampa Bay pass rush and it couldn&#8217;t find an opposing quarterback with a map and a magnifying glass. Let&#8217;s see if that doesn&#8217;t also help cut down on Bridgewater&#8217;s picks. I&#8217;ve got a hunch it does. I don&#8217;t much care what&#8217;s going on in Chicago&#8217;s locker room. The Bears have been losing games because they can&#8217;t stop the pass and they can&#8217;t hold on to the ball. Those things aren&#8217;t getting solved in this game. Patriots by 10.<\/p>\n<p><strong><strong><strong><a title=\"St. Louis Rams web site\" href=\"http:\/\/www.stlouisrams.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">St. Louis<\/a><\/strong> (+7) <strong>at <strong title=\"Kansas City Chiefs web site\"><a title=\"Kansas City Chiefs web site\" href=\"http:\/\/www.kcchiefs.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Kansas City<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong>Forget about letdown games. The Rams surely won&#8217;t be able to maintain the momentum of their <a title=\"Seattle Seahawks at St. Louis Rams, October 19, 2014\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nfl.com\/gamecenter\/2014101907\/2014\/REG7\/seahawks@rams#menu=gameinfo&amp;tab=recap\" target=\"_blank\">upset victory over the Seahawks<\/a> last week. But that&#8217;s not why they&#8217;re losing this game. The Rams are losing this game because the Chiefs are a better team. The Chiefs D can stop the Rams O. Doesn&#8217;t work the other way around. It&#8217;s really that simple. Kansas City by 13.<\/p>\n<p><strong title=\"Seattle Seahawks web site\"><a title=\"Seattle Seahawks web site\" href=\"http:\/\/www.seahawks.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Seattle<\/a><\/strong> <strong>(-5)<strong> <strong>at <strong><strong><strong><strong><a title=\"Carolina Panthers web site\" href=\"http:\/\/www.panthers.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Carolina<\/a><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong>The Seahawks aren&#8217;t losing three in a row. Or at the very least, they&#8217;re not losing their third straight to a team without a defense.
